RCG 31st Charter Nite – Sailebrate: A Celebration to Remember

The 31st Charter Nite of the Rotary Club of Guindy was a proud and memorable evening, beautifully hosted aboard a cruise sailing through the serene backwaters of Muttukadu. True to its theme Sailebrate, the event reflected the spirit of fellowship, teamwork, and gratitude that defines RCG. Overall 103 participated (including 14 Past Presidents of RCG).

The success of the evening was the result of meticulous planning and collective effort by the Charter Nite team led by President Rtn. Radha Krish, Secretary Rtn. Venkatesh, Chairman Rtn. Ramesh Babu, and supported by an enthusiastic team of Rotarians and Anns. From early site visits to vendor coordination, every detail was thoughtfully curated. Special appreciation is due to President Radha Krish, whose unwavering involvement—even during a brief family break—ensured flawless execution, and to Rtn. Sriraman for the swift and complete delivery of invitations. The engaging teaser videos by Rtn. Rafeek, Rtn. Jemima, and the Lemon Mint team built great anticipation, especially the heartfelt tributes to Past Presidents.

The evening began on a lively note with refreshments, followed by an energetic upper-deck celebration featuring DJ music, dhol, and dance—enthusiastically joined by members, dignitaries, and guests alike. The formal proceedings commenced smoothly on the lower deck with ceremonial elements setting a reflective tone. The event was excellently compered by Rtn. SM Balaji, with crisp Tamil introductions that beautifully honored each Past President.

A key highlight was the honoring of Past Presidents with curated mementos and the Charter Night cake cutting, symbolizing RCG’s enduring legacy. The induction of Mr. Thomas Dose, Managing Director of BMW Plant, Chennai, as an Honorary Member of RCG stood out as a proud moment, conducted by District Governor Rtn. Devendran and Chief Guest DG Nominee Rtn. Ganapathy Suresh.

The evening concluded with fellowship over dinner, thoughtful gift hampers, and memorable moments captured through excellent photo and video coverage. Overall, the 31st Charter Nite was a flawless celebration—honouring RCG’s roots while joyfully sailing its legacy forward.
