Project Report: Children’s Day Drawing Competition with YMCA Madras

The Rotary Club of Guindy successfully conducted the Children’s Day Drawing Competition in association with YMCA Madras, celebrating creativity, learning, and environmental awareness. A total of 200 children participated in the competition, enthusiastically presenting artworks on the theme “Sustainable Planet – Save Mother Earth.” Their drawings reflected thoughtful ideas and vibrant expressions of hope for a greener future.

As part of the event’s environmental initiative, 650 saplings were distributed to all participating children. This green gesture was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Rtn. Venugopal, with Rtn. Sridharan efficiently coordinating the procurement and logistics from the nursery.

We extend our gratitude to the members who attended and supported the program: Special thanks to our Event Sponsors — Rtn. Mothish, Rtn. Kadhir, Rtn. Ramesh, Rtn. Sriraman, and Rtn. Sunil Srinath (President & Secretary) — whose contributions helped bring the event to life. The total event expenses included both sponsored support and member contributions amounting to ₹50,000.

This Children’s Day initiative successfully blended creativity with environmental responsibility, embodying Rotary’s mission of service and positive community impact. The event served not only as a celebration but also as an educational experience that encouraged young minds to envision and build a sustainable future.
