Rotary Club of Guindy – International Trip to Kazakhstan (3 - 10 Oct 2025)

Our Rotary Club’s international trip to Kazakhstan was an unforgettable blend of adventure, scenic beauty, cultural exploration, and Rotary camaraderie. From the futuristic skyline of Astana to the breathtaking natural splendor of Almaty, every day brought new experiences and deeper friendships.

What began with some apprehension about facing the extreme cold soon turned into a celebration of spirit and resilience. Braving sub-zero temperatures, our members embraced every moment — from the magical snowfall at Shymbulak to the serene stillness of Kolsai Lake and the majestic grandeur of Charyn Canyon. The chill in the air only strengthened our warmth as a group, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

A proud Rotary moment came when we upheld our core value of “Service Above Self” by contributing USD 1000 to Rotary Club of Astana for their impressive local community project. This gesture of international goodwill further strengthened Rotary bonds beyond borders.

The trip’s success was a result of the meticulous planning and tireless efforts of ISD Rtn. T. M. Meiyappan, whose calm leadership and eye for detail ensured a seamless experience. His partner Ann Alamu’s grace, support, and warmth were felt throughout the journey.

Our heartfelt appreciation to President Rtn. Radha, whose energy and conviction made Kazakhstan our chosen destination, and toall fellow Rotarians and Anns for their enthusiasm, humor, and fellowship that made the trip so special.

A special mention to Goodness Travels and our guides Aman & Victor for their excellent arrangements, patience, and hospitality.

In the end, Kazakhstan wasn’t just about snow, canyons, and lakes — it was about friendship, laughter, service, and shared purpose. It reminded us that every imperfect journey makes the most perfect memory.

“Faith. Hope. Belief. And it happened.”
