Rose Day 2025 – A Slight Edge That Made All the Difference

Rotary Club of Guindy commemorated Rose Day 2025 on September 22nd at the Adyar Cancer Institute, marking the 13th consecutive year of this meaningful service. What has always been a satisfying project took on a slight edge this year—through deeper commitment, personal touch, and enhanced facilities for patients.

Led by CSD Rtn Uvias, who personally engaged with members and the institute to understand needs, the project went beyond Annadhanam. Along with serving fresh fruits and nourishing food to over 100 beneficiaries, the club also handed over 8 new cots and beds, 3 large shoe stands, and committed to completing the requested grill fencing shortly. This thoughtful expansion reflected true Service Above Self.

The event was enriched by the enthusiastic participation of members, Anns, prospects, co-presidents, and Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Chengalpet. The presence and encouragement of AG Rtn. Dr. Bhuvana, our President Rtn. Radha Krish, Secretary Rtn. Venkatesh, Ann Rema Madam, and several Past Presidents including Rtn. Venuji, Rtn. Sathish, Rtn. Kathir, Rtn. Balaji, Rtn. V. Sridhar, Rtn. Sharath, Rtn. Motish, and Rtn. Ramesh Babu added significance to the occasion.

Heartfelt appreciation goes to our committed Rotarians—Muthukannan, Sriraman, Madhan, Karthikeyan, Srikanth, Kanesan Sir, Rafeeq, Jemima, Saravanan, Nadhu, Deepan (and spouse), and Priya Rajendran for their active involvement, as well as to the generous contributions from members that made this project possible.

Rose Day 2025 once again proved that Rotary’s compassion, collaboration, and commitment can transform small acts of kindness into lasting impact. Like the rose itself, the day was beautiful, vibrant, and full of life; with that slight edge of extra care making all the difference.
