The Rotary Club successfully organised Thamizhar Thiruvizha, a cultural fellowship programme held at Stepstone’s Aero City. The venue, with its open-air setting and festive ambience, provided an ideal environment for a traditional Tamil cultural celebration, fostering fellowship among Rotarians, families, Rotaractors, and invitees.
The event was meticulously planned and executed under the able leadership of Chairman Rtn. Muthu Kannan, whose clarity of vision and attention to detail ensured a smooth and well-coordinated programme throughout the day. PP Rtn. Mothish, the event sponsor, played a pivotal role by not only supporting the event but also conceptualising and organising an authentic village-style Pongal Thiruvizha, offering a memorable and nostalgic experience for participants. Beyond sponsorship, Rtn. Mothish conferred a moment of great pride by offering District Governor Rtn. Devendran, President Rtn. Radha, fellow Rotarians, industry dignitaries, and the Village Head the honour of inaugurating the Stepstone Club House at his property.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Thiru Pushpavanam Kuppusamy, whose association with Tamil folk traditions enriched the cultural significance of the event. The presence of District Governor Rtn. Devendran further added inspiration and reinforced Rotary values.
Cultural performances by artists from Namakkal formed the highlight of the programme. Traditional art forms such as Parai Melam, Kaavadi, Puli Vesham, Maadu Aattam, Kaavadi and Mayil Aattam were presented with great vibrancy, celebrating the richness of Tamil heritage. Traditional refreshments and meals, including millet-based breakfast and lunch, were well appreciated by all participants.
The Rotaract Club of Guindy and Rotaract Club of Saveetha provided excellent support through coordination and volunteer service, contributing significantly to the success of the event by being efficient MCs and creative video/photographers. The Stepstone team extended outstanding logistical and hospitality support, ensuring seamless arrangements throughout.
Transportation and logistics were efficiently handled with support from Rtn. Jaffer and Rtn. Sampangi Raja, enabling comfortable travel for participants. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Rotarians, Ann’s, Annets, prospects, families, and children, strengthening fellowship and camaraderie.
Special appreciation is extended to President Rtn. Radha for her inspiring leadership, and Joint Secretary Rtn. Sara for their continuous support and coordination. The presence of Chairman Rtn. Muthu Kannan and President-Elect Prabhoo, who attended the programme even on a personal milestone day, exemplified true Rotary commitment.
The programme concluded with warm interactions, shared meals, and a relaxed return journey, marking the event as a meaningful and memorable fellowship experience. Thamizhar Thiruvizha stood as a fine example of cultural celebration, teamwork, and Rotary spirit.
