“Einfach Machen” — Just Do It, Simply!

When Mr. Thomas Dose spoke at our Club about “Einfach Machen”, many of us quietly wondered…

Can simplicity really coexist with the engineering marvel called BMW?

And then Thomas introduced us to The Eliya Principle — born from his deep connection to Indian culture, shaped into a management philosophy, and now a book. We were hooked. So much so that when he invited us to visit the BMW Plant, we took the message seriously… and just did it! 😄

What followed was a visit that left us mesmerised, humbled and occasionally hungry (thanks to some mouth-watering production analogies):

🌟 What awed us at the Plant

The Eliya Principle in action — showcased brilliantly by Shravan Kumar, whose “burger–patty–pizza” explanations had us nodding… and craving snacks.

Sustainability that deserves awards — passionately presented by Ramakrishnan, BMW’s Sustainability Champion.

Military-grade efficiency with a smile — Thomas’s secretary Pavithra handled our entire troop single-handedly. Smooth entry, smooth dining, smooth exit. Eliya Principle 100%!

A plant that breathes — spotless floors, airy spaces, and cooling systems smarter than most of us.

Half an acre of Miyawaki forest — now home to peacocks and honeybees. (Yes, even the wildlife wants a BMW address.)

Energy magic — 100% rainwater for non-potable needs, major solar power usage, and water-cooled production spaces.

A Rotary connection everywhere — Shravan and Ram are Rotarians; the Solar Plant? Installed by a Rotarian too!

Our Annettes turned into BMW interviewers — Dhivit and Kaleeshwar grilled Shravan so much he had to guard BMW secrets like a vault! Even Thomas spotted potential future Beamers among them.

🤝 Two families, one spirit

Professionalism, punctuality, warmth and curiosity flowed on both sides — the RCG family and the BMW family.

We returned with one firm belief:

“Einfach Machen” isn’t just a German phrase. It’s a way of life. And it works.
