ANNADHANAM – Sri Sai Illam
Rotary Club of Guindy (RCG) has been conducting ANNADHANAM event every month this Rotary Year, and during this event, the Club donates groceries to one deserving Orphanage and Old homes in and around
Sri Sai Illam is an old age home having 23 residents ( 20 women and 3 men). It is run by an exuberant and emphatic social worker, Mrs. Jayalakshmi. Those who are old, without any family, and financially very weak are only considered for admission with preference for women.
RCG donated groceries during the event. Also, considering the chill weather during December, sweaters were distributed to all the 23 residents through donation from Ann. Niranjana Vishwanathan and Rtn. Vishwanathan. Annt.Tarun, son of Rtn. Sharath donated an Emergency light from his pocket money that he received for his birthday last week. Rtn.Pranay Sinha wanted to do really something good for the center today as it was his son Annt. Rudra Sinha’s birthday, and he decided to procure a refrigerator which the center badly needed. It is getting delivered soon.
This event was attended by Rtn. Suresh – Chairman for the event, Rtn. Sunil Khatri, Ann. Janaki Venugopal Rtn. Venugopal, Rtn. Srikanth – Director for Community Services Development 2, Ann. Rathna Kanesan and Rtn. Kanesan with total moral support from all the RCGians.
